On January 17, PM Modi while addressing the World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda delivered a special virtual speech.

About PM Modi’s speech on World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda:

PM Modi said, “India is celebrating its 75th year of Independence and also the administration of 156 crore vaccine doses in the country. India has gifted the world a bouquet of hope.”

“In this bouquet, we Indians have an unwavering trust in our Democracy, we have the technology to empower the 21st century with the temperament and talent of Indians,” he further added.

PM Modi also stated that India has the World’s largest, safe and successful digital payments platform. “In the last month alone, 4.4 billion transactions have taken place in India through Unified Payments Interface (UPI),” he added.

Several heads of state are scheduled to address the WEF’s virtual event Davos Agenda is being held from January 17. The five day event will also witness the participation of top industry leaders, international organisations and civil society, who will deliberate on critical challenges being faced by the world today and discuss how to address them.

About WEF Davos Agenda 2022:

The Davos Agenda virtual event offers the first global platform of 2022 for world leaders to come together to share their visions for the year ahead.

The week-long virtual event, taking place on the WEF website and social media channels 17-21 January 2022, will feature heads of state and government, CEOs and other leaders. They will discuss the critical challenges facing the world today and present their ideas on how to address them.

The event also marks the launch of several Forum initiatives including efforts to accelerate the race to net-zero emissions, ensure the economic opportunity of nature-positive solutions, create cyber resilience, strengthen global value chains, build economies in fragile markets through humanitarian investing, bridge the vaccine manufacturing gap and use data solutions to prepare for the next pandemic.

The theme-setting World Economic Forum (WEF) Agenda on the ‘State of the World’ will see government and corporate leaders talk about critical global challenges, with a special address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ahead of the Davos meeting.
