The long-awaited love drama ‘Gehraiyaan‘ has been released on the online platform ‘Amazon Prime‘. Starring Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa, the film presents the life of four individuals, tangled up in their own worlds.
‘Gehraiyaan’ tells it all
As the movie speaks about Gehraiyaan, meaning depth, most of the scenes revolve around the sea or it can also be asserted that the screen presence of the sea is more than any other character in the movie.
Lesson learnt
The one big lesson that can be learnt is that being in this world was never easy. We always get choices to make, where some of these choices carry distress to us, the others bring comfort.
However, we need to make sure that we are not blinded by shallow comfort that might get us into points so deep that it may lead to us taking the entire life to cope with.

The movie is about four individuals and their journey through love, lies, trust, betrayal, complex relationships and moving on with the dark realities of the past. Gehraiyaan displayed a modern-day love story wherein falling out of love seems erroneous yet fair.
The story isn’t about mere attraction, it’s abundance a lot more than that as the plot points at some of the issues for which relationships these days face deadlocks.
Deepika shines brighter among the others
The strongest character in the drama has to be Deepika Padukone who has played the role of a 30-year-old Yoga Instructor named Alisha.
About the characters
Alisha is into a 6-year-old relationship with her live-in partner Karan (Dhairya Karwa), an advertising executive who left his soul-sucking job to become a writer, only to discover that she is stuck and suffocated.
Alisha and her cousin Tia (Ananya Panday) used to be of the same kind while they were younger. However, as they grew up they turned out to be contrary to each other.
Tia is getting married to Zain (Siddhant Chaturvedi), a cool, ambitious businessman.
Circumstances took a wild turn when the two couples went for a trip together. Alisha and Zain got attracted at the very moment they met.
Despite being into serious and committed relationships both slips in the path of infidelity that took the complications to the heights.
Acting
If we speak about acting then Deepika stole the show with her appraisable dialogue delivery and pragmatic acting. Dhairya Karwa has completely justified his role. However, it seems like Siddhant as a lover needs a bit of polishing in his character.
Besides, the actor could have been a bit more entailing into the character. However, the actor managed to stand out in the bold scenes. Ananya Pandey at the same time seemed like playing more of her real self throughout the movie, also the dialogue delivery of the actress could have been better.
Conclusion
Moreover, the sound play and cinematography has played a crucial role and added subtle flavour to the plot.
The movie depicts a whole lot of unfiltered observations of circumstances that life offers to an individual.
The film will comprehensively offer you some steamy and tender scenes that would end up giving you butterflies and thoughts of excitement.
However, towards the end the pace of the plot feels incomplete. Not all stories have a fairy tale ending but being humans we urge and seek to know more than what has already been told or viewed to us.
The desperation of the leads gave birth to a love triangle that got ugly leaving each and every character wounded for the rest of their lives.
