Kangana Ranaut‘s movie ‘Emergency’ made its way to the headlines with controversies even before the shooting began. Kangana is going to make a film on the Emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975.
So Kangana will be visiting Prayagraj – the birthplace of Indira Gandhi – to do the pre-shoot research about the film in which she will be portraying her role as well as will be directing the biopic.

Kangana Ranaut’s visit has however caused discord between the BJP and Congress parties. The parties are in disagreement about her arrival to the birth of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Congress workers have announced that they will not allow Kangana to enter Prayagraj and said it is an “agent of BJP” while on the other hand, BJP workers have said that, “Let’s see who can stop the daughter of the country from entering the city of Sangam under Yogi’s rule.”
Kangana wants to live the character before directing Emergency
Kangana Ranaut will not only be starring in the movie Emergency as the lead role she will also be directing it.
To connect with the character, she so wants to visit all the places associated with the life of Indira Gandhi, starting from Anand Bhawan where the Congress stalwart has spent her childhood, to her school and wedding place.
Kangana is also likely to meet the family of late Allahabad High Court justice Jagmohanlal Sinha who had famously invalidated Indira’s election which then led to the imposition of Emergency.
BJP-Congress disagreement on Kangana’s visit
BJP and Congress have come face to face on the matter of Kangana visiting the Sangam city.
Congress is claiming Kangana to be an agent of BJP and that she is plotting a conspiracy to defame the former Prime Minister on the pretext of the ‘Emergency’ film. Congress workers have announced not to allow Kangana to enter Prayagraj.
However, BJP has asserted that no one can stop Kangana from entering Prayagraj under the rule of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as she has the right to research her film.
Kangana is expected to visit Prayagraj for a couple of days on August 25 and she is expected to hold a press meet in Varanasi instead of Prayagraj to fend off any controversy that is emerging due to her visit or the movie.
