The state of Assam successfully attains its goal of reaching 4 Crore Vaccination.
CM Sarma on Twitter:
On January 17, CM Sarma happily took the information to his official social media handle where he shared the entire number list of vaccinated people in the state. As per the information provided a number of around 4,00,22,217 persons has received the COVID-19 vaccine.
It was also mentioned that the first dose of the vaccine has been provided to a number of 2,29,02,926 persons in the state and the tally for the second dose received by people is 1,70,62,917.
However, till now the precautionary doses have been given to 56,374 individuals.
As the state has successfully reached its target, unfortunately the third covid wave has appeared along with the new variant of the virus, Omicron.
Guidelines imposed by Government:
In order to prevent the spread of the virus and in view of Omicron’s scare, the state government has shared SOPs putting restrictions in various sectors. The night curfew has been imposed from 11:00 pm at night to morning 06:00 am.
The double vaccination has been made mandatory for movements and public appearances of people in the state. The CM strictly ordered that people without vaccines will not be allowed in any public places or gatherings such as shopping malls, markets, etc.
Limitations in traveling:
Besides, there are limitations made in traveling of people within the state, outside the state and entering into the state. On January 18, the state government registered an affidavit to the Supreme Court of India stating it is voluntary to take the vaccination but not mandatory.
However there are individuals who were found to be not willing to take vaccines by giving various justifications and this seems to be a challenge for the health officials.
Eventually, the health officials in the state have requested the residents to take the vaccine doses as it is likely that a tough situation may be faced by people if not done with vaccination.
