Arunachal teen kept in Chinese custody returns home mentally disturbed

Arunachal teen who was abducted by People’s Liberation Army of China on 18 January has returned home.

Reportedly, during an event in Tuting, Upper Siang district, the teen named Miram Taron, was reunited with his parents by the Indian Army.

Arunachal teen kept for more than a week

As per information, the official informed on 1 February about the teenage boy returning to his family.

The official also mentioned that the Indian Army helped in the reunion of Miram Taron with his parents and family members.

Father shares that he is facing mental illness

Opang Taron, the father of the teen boy, claimed that his son got mentally disturbed after he faced the torture throughout the incident.

He further also mentioned that his son was tied and blindfolded by the Chinese Army.

He further claimed that his son was even kicked in the back and also given mild electric shocks. During the entire detention period his hands were tied except for eating purposes, the father added.

He also said that even he was not allowed to eat much as they provide him only with very sufficient food.

He was welcomed back home

The panchayat representatives of Miram Taron’s area and local administration took the initiative to welcome the boy to his village with warm greetings.

Reportedly, Taron was kidnapped by the Chinese army on 18th January. He was on a hunting expedition with his friend Johny Yaying in the Lungta Jor region near the LOC.

But, Yaying managed to flee from the scene and report the incident to authorities.

The Chinese army handed Miram over to the Indian Army on 27th January at the Wacha-Damai interaction point in Kibithu, Anjaw district.

He was quarantined and legal formalities were fulfilled at the Wacha-Damai interaction point in Kibithu, Anjaw district.
