On Friday, A 34-year-old woman was brutally raped inside a stationary tempo in suburban Sakinaka. Reports from Friday said her condition is serious and needs to be examined.
Arrested people
Mohan Chouhan the 45-year-old man was found and arrested by the police within a few hours of the incident, said an official. In the early hours of Friday, a phone call was received by the police control room. It was informed that a man is thrashing a woman on Khairani Road.
Police team rushed to the spot
A police team immediately went to the spot to find the woman. Later she was found lying in a pool of blood. She was admitted to the civic-run Rajawadi hospital, said the official.
Sources said she had been raped with an iron rod in her private parts. It was also informed that the incident occurred inside a tempo that was parked on the roadside.
There were Bloodstains which were found by the police inside the vehicle. Doctors said the woman’s condition is serious, said the official.
Chauhan arrested under section 307
Chauhan was arrested after acting on some leads under IPC section 307 (murder attempt), accused and 376 (rape), and some other probes were on, the official added. The 45-year-old man was arrested by the Sakinaka police early on Friday who allegedly assaulted and raped a 34-year-old woman.
Similar case happened in 2012
A young woman in December 2012 was brutally gang-raped and assaulted inside a moving bus in Delhi, who later was referred to as ‘’Nirbhaya”. The case caused a wave of outrage across the entire of India. After fighting for her life for several days, she died in hospital.
The victim died because of her injuries caused by six men on a moving bus who raped her and assaulted her most cruelly. Even though the incident was led to new anti-rape laws in India, there are still rape cases that are happening every day in the country.
Four people responsible for the Nirbhaya case were sentenced to death
Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta, Akshay Thakur, and Mukesh Singh were sentenced to death in the Nirbhaya case by a trial court in 2013. The four accused persons were hanged in the capital’s high-security Tihar prison.
