Assam CM Sarma on December 20, through a tweet stated that in yet another drive against drugs, the Police seized more than 1,000 illegal squatters which were part of inter-state drugs cartels in Karbi Anglong district.

The drugs were seized by the Police from Borjan Mouza, (Block No 3, Dudu Colony) under Bokajan Subdivision in Karbi Anglong district.

In the tweet Sarma wrote, “In a major drive Assam Police evicted 1050 illegal squatters, part of inter-state drugs cartels, from Borjan Mouza, (Block No 3, Dudu Colony) under Bokajan Subdivision in Karbi Anglong district.”
“This serves a major blow to the supply, and storage centres for drugs,” he further added.

The move was earlier, informed by the state’s Director-General Of Police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta that the operation was conducted by the Police. He took it to Twitter to write, “As part of our ‘War on Drugs’, today we razed 115 huts of squatters from Dudu Colony, Bokajan, Karbi Anglong”.
