Google: In the view of the never ending threat of the pandemic, Google issued a notice where it clearly states that employees working under its firm are bound to take vaccines before January 18, 2022 failing to which will cause them to face a series of escalating consequences that will include pay deductions and the eventual loss of their jobs, according to an internal memo to staff obtained by CNBC.
About the notice by Google:
A notice stated that the company would specifically ask for employees who failed to declare their vaccination status and upload the proof of vaccination or applied for an exemption on medical or religious grounds by Dec 3, 2021.
Also those unvaccinated employees who do not abide by the rule before January 18, would be put on paid administrative leave for 30 days and after that the company shall put them on unpaid personal leave for up to six months. Employees who still refused to be vaccinated would then be fired from their respective positions.
The notice further added, “anyone entering a Google building must be fully vaccinated or have an approved accommodation that allows them to work or come onsite.” It also said that testing negative for the virus would still not help one to justify him or her of not taking the vaccine.
Statement by Google spokesperson:
While speaking to The Hill, Google spokesperson said, “As we’ve stated before, our vaccination requirements are one of the most important ways we can keep our workforce safe and keep our services running.”
