Fuel price in Guwahati has been turning more volatile day by day. Today’s Petrol price in Assam is Rs 94.58 per liter. However, after the excise drop, a liter of diesel costs Rs 81.29.
On Thursday, 4th of November, the price of diesel marked Rs 86.40 per liter and petrol to Rs 99.92 per liter.
Starting from June liter Petrol Prices In India are liter revised daily posing certain drawbacks for the common sole.
It may be recalled that on 10/10/21 fuel prices in some Indian cities surpassed the 100 per liter mark fuelling inflation and putting strain on household finances.
Additional Follow-up on the fuel price issue
The Assam Government on Wednesday, November 3 reduced additional Rs.7 Vat on Oil prices after the Central Government announced an excise duty reduction on petrol and diesel by ₹5 and ₹10 respectively. And this has been witnessed across the city.
CM Himanta’s say on the matter
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conveyed, “Heartening to learn Central Govt decision to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel. In consonance with the decision of Hon’ble PM #narendramodi, I am pleased to announce that Assam Govt will also reduce VAT on petrol and diesel each by Rs 7/- with immediate effect #nsitharaman”
If the high rates continue, Sarma indicated on October 29 that his administration would be willing to lower its portion of fuel taxes.
