Hillang Yajik, a 24-year-old bodybuilder from Arunachal Pradesh, scripted history by winning both gold and silver medals at the 15th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2025 in Thimphu, Bhutan. Yajik competed in the Women’s Model Physique (up to 155cm) and another competitive category, standing out among athletes from across the South Asian region.

This incredible victory marks Hillang Yajik as the first female athlete from Arunachal Pradesh to achieve such an international milestone in physique sports. Hillang began her fitness and bodybuilding career in 2022, participating in the Federation Cup in Sikkim. She later won silver at the Eastern Zone Nationals in Kolkata and continued her momentum by winning silver at the Federation Cup in Goa in 2024. Her achievement was also acknowledged by the Arunachal Bodybuilding Association and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who hailed Hillang as a beacon of inspiration for the youth of the state.
