Assam and other parts of North East India is likely to witness heavy to extremely heavy rainfall till the 20th of June. IMD has issued a red alert in several parts of the region for the next four days.

IMD issues red alert; Orange alert in Arunachal Pradesh
As per the last update on June 14, India Meteorological Department had said heavy rainfall to continue over North-East India for most of the week.
Indian Meteorological Department also said, “The gradual fall in maximum temperatures by 2-3⁰ C very likely over Northwest India during next three days and no significant change thereafter.”
The department also predicted rainfall over adjoining Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Normal lives have been disrupted in several parts of the state continues to witness heavy showers leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in several parts. The water level rose to 10 feet in some areas, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday.
“NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) personnel were deployed for relief work in various parts of Guwahati battered by severe waterlogging,” the report said.
