A leopard has injured a woman at the Loco colony in Pandu Locality on Tuesday. The animal has been captured. It was first spotted in the Pandu locality, which has become a place for the wild ones to roam around at night.
Leopard attack
According to reports from the forest Officials, the animal wonder around for food as their natural habitat is shrinking forcing them to look for prey near human civilisation. These wild animals mostly prey on the farm animals that these people rear.
As per the reports, the leopard had attacked a woman and injured her severly before it could be tranquilised.
Reports reveal that the woman was then immediately taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and is undergoing her treatments.
The injured woman has been identified as Manju Bhattarcharya. The incident has caused a panic among the locals as they fear more attacks. The leopard was seen to have been roaming around the area since the early hours and severely attacked the woman.
