Right ahead of the celebration of Bihu, the thieves of Guwahati stole not only cash but ladu, pitha, meat, oil, fish and other edible itmes from a shop. The Shop named AAU Fresh which is located in Khanapara lodged an FIR regarding the matter.
Thieves steal ahead of bihu
The incident happened on the Bihu Eve. As per the reports from the Police, “the vehicles from Kanyaka arrive in the morning at around 4:30 to 5:00. They called me saying that the door couldn’t be opened . I reached the spot and after entering the shop saw both the cash boxes have been broken and emptied. They left twenty rupees in one of the cash boxes. They also took away the CCTV camera recording box. When we took stock of the goods, we found a lot of it was missing including meat, fish , 6 bags of rice, tea, eggs and ladu and pitha.
The recent crime rate has been rapidly increasing in the city. Over the past one to two months duration, almost 20 crimes has been reported. Murder, killings, theft, mobile and chain snatchers etc. the situation is quite worrisome fopr the residents of Guwahati as now people fear to walk in areas that are not well lit and have to double cautious of the bikes.
Due to the rising prices of food and other items has left people resort to becoming thieves. Low rate of employment with high prices are one of the major reasons why people resort to such illegal means. The areas should be well lit and proper measures must be taken like petrol at night to ensure the minimum rates of such crimes in the city.
