CM of UP, Yogi Adityanath reintroduced a night curfew starting from Saturday 11 pm to 5 am after chairing a Covid-19 review meeting.
Adityanath said, “In several states of the country, Covid cases are rising and under these circumstances, it is important to take some steps.”

He directed to strictly follow all the Covid-19 measures and protocols. He mentioned that gathering at weddings and other public events should not be more than 200 people.
He asked to properly maintain the “no mask, no shopping” message for traders and shopkeepers.
“The shopkeepers should not sell anything to customers without face masks. Police should enhance patrolling, make the public address systems more effective to publicize safety norms and protocols…mask-wearing must be made mandatory for movement on roads and in markets,” he said.
Further, he also instructed to put in a system to prevent people from entering the state without testing. And to be more cautious and alert at the bus, railway stations, and airports.
He asked the concerned officials to look after the arrangements properly in case there is a third wave.
Amid growing concern over the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant, after Madhya Pradesh, UP becomes the second state to reintroduce night curfew.
Thirty-one new COVID-19 cases were reported across UP on Thursday – much lower than the tens of thousands of cases detected daily in April-May. The state has reported two Omicron cases so far.
