Vicky Kaushal slammed the media for his rumoured engagement, claiming that it was all fabricated by the paparazzi. The actor is now receiving praise for his portrayal in the Shoojit Sircar-directed film Sardar Udham Singh as Sardar Udham Singh.
However, when asked about Vicky Kaushal’s personal life and the rumours surrounding his roka ceremony with Katrina Kaif during a promotional interview, Vicky claimed that it was all made up by the media.
Rumours are Turning into reality
Vicky Kaushal, speaking to ETimes about the rumours of his engagement to Katrina, said, “Your buddies were the ones who spread the word (laughs).
Soon enough, when the moment is right, I’ll be engaged. (The time will come) Uska bhi time aayega” The two actors had been rumoured to be dating for almost two years. They’ve been seen having dinners and lunches together on occasion, as well as flirting here and there at gatherings when their gestures and body language tell volumes.
They also spent Diwali celebrations together in 2020, when Katrina was photographed outside Vicky Kaushal’s home with his buddies.

However, neither of them has publicly acknowledged their relationship. Sunny Kaushal, Vicky Kaushal’s brother, spoke up about his brother’s roka rumours earlier this year. He shrugged it off, revealing that their parents had made fun of Vicky for the same reason. Spotboye, he told him, “Vicky had gone to the gym in the morning when the rumours began to circulate. ‘Arre yaar, teri engagement ho gayi, mithai to khila de (We heard you got engaged, please treat us to sweets)’, mom and dad joked as he arrived home. ‘Jitni asli engagement hui hai, utni asli mithai bhi kha lo (Since the engagement is fake, the sweets will be as well)’, Vicky said.”
