The Union Cabinet on Thursday hiked dearness allowance and dearness relief by 3 percent to 31 percent to give advantage to 47.14 lakh Central Government of India personnel and 68.62 lakh pensioners.

This was announced by the Minister of Information & Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur. He also shared the same in his Twitter handle saying “#Cabinet approves release of an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to Pensions, due from 01.07.2021.

This will come into impact from 1st July 2021. This can be a further 3% payable on the prevailing 28% of pay and pension. This decision by the government will be helpful for the 47.14 lakh employees of the Central Government and 68.62 lakh pensioners.

Earlier in July, the government had restored the dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) and extended the fee of allowance from 17 percent to 28 percent.
The Union Government has kept the three additional installments stagnant of the DA and DR, which have been due from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021.
