Srinagar: In yet another barbaric incident on December 13, two cops were killed and as many as 12 were injured during a terrorists attack in Srinagar.

About the Srinagar incident:

A Pakistan-based terrorists organization on Monday open fires at a police bus where at least 2 cops got killed and a number of 12 were badly injured. The incident took place in the Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar. 

About the victims:

According to a Kashmir zone police officer, one of the deceased was an ASI and the other was a selection grade constable. The other injured cops were rushed to various hospitals and their condition is stable now. 

Aftermath:

Vijay Kumar, J&K IG said, “JeM’s Kashmir Tigers have claimed responsibility. We are monitoring the situation.”

According to an official, at the present time, the area where the incident took place has been sealed and a search operation have been initiated to track down the assailants. 

PM Modi on the incident:

PM Modi had expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and have asked for details on the terror attack and.

Besides, J&K Governor Manoj Sinha speaking against the “cowardly terrorist attack pays his homage to the martyred police personnels. 

Sinha said, “We are committed to ensure that perpetrators are punished. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.” He further added that the concerned authorities are ordered to look into the entire scenario and provide the best treatment to those who are injured.
