School in Kerala’s Palakkad district has told its students to address teacher and not as “sir” or “madam”

They has asked its students to call all their educators as ‘teachers’ instead of addressing male teachers as ‘Sir’ and female teachers as ‘Madam.’

About:

It is a government-aided senior basic school located in a village named Olassery in the Palakkad district of Kerala. It has become the first-ever educational institution in the state of Kerala to introduce gender neutrality while addressing the mentors.

According to reports, the senior basic school consists of a total of eight male teachers and nine female teachers.

While speaking to the media the headmaster said, “Sanjeev thought to abandon the practice of addressing male teachers as ‘Sir’ and shared it with other higher officials”
