The Directorate of Handloom and Textiles has issued applications for the one-year certificate course in Handloom and Textiles.
Directorate of Handloom and Textiles calls for application:

The essential qualifications of the candidates for the same are: One must have a HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) pass and have one-year artisan training under the Department of Handloom and Textiles.
Age limit:
The age limit of the candidates is 18-30 years with relaxation for ST, SC and OBC candidates as per the State Government’s rules.
About the Institutes:

The Directorate of Handloom and Textiles has four HTIs (Handloom Training Institutes) under it at Hatbor in the Nagaon district, Gannakkuchi in the Barpeta district, Mussalpur in the Baksa district and North Lakhimpur in the Lakhimpur district.
Each of these four HTIs will receive applications fulfilling the essential qualifications till February 25, 2022.
All the interested and eligible candidates may contact the district and sub-divisional officers of the Handloom and Textiles department for details.
The Directorate of Handloom and Textile, Assam was created by the Government of Assam in the year 1983. Previously it was known as the Directorate of Sericulture and Weaving. Weaving has been renamed as the Directorate of Handloom and Textile.
Its objectives:
The prime objectives of this department are to upgrade the socio-economic status of poor women living below the poverty line in the rural areas, to make them self dependent, to provide various types of looms and accessories and yarn by implementing various schemes relating to weavers, and make the women folks of rural areas economically sound empower them in real sense of the term.
