The revenue and disaster management department has been asked by the CM to set a digitization goal of all the state’s land records till 2023 and to dispose of all pending partition and mutation cases before the first anniversary of the current government.
Sarma sets goals and calls for reform in the state’s revenue
On Saturday, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asked the revenue and disaster management department to set a goal for the state’s land record digitization till 2023.
According to an official statement, Sarma also urged the above-mentioned departments to dispose of all pending mutation and partition cases before the completion of the current government’s first anniversary which will be in May next year.
Moreover, Sarma also calls for reform in the state’s revenue administration while meeting with the department officials, and also asks them to make all pending partition and mutation cases complete as a mission.

Mission to achieve the goals
According to the statement, on October 2 of this year “Mission Basundhara” will be launched for the main purpose of completing the pending cases.
Sarma says that all such pending matters should be solved before the current government’s first anniversary which will be on May 10 next year. He also directs the department to achieve the goal of completely digitizing the state’s land records till 2023.
Expedite the delay in the survey
The department was also asked by the chief minister to expedite the process of cadastral survey of all the remaining non-cadastral villages and a detailed survey of lands from the 27 districts of Assam, where the sixth schedule areas will be excluded.
During the meeting, the issue of inter-district transfer of ‘lot mondals’, mondals that have been posted under the revenue department was put under discussion. Furthermore, Sarma also directs officials to draft a new “Service Rule of the ‘lot mondals’” so that execution of posts and transfer will be hassle-free within the specified time.
Lastly, there were senior officials such as Avinash Joshi who were present at the meeting.
