A man from Barpeta district in Assam was killed by his son as he refused to give him a bidi which is a kind of cigarette.

According to sources the incident took place early in the morning and the entire issue took place because of a bidi.
About the incident:
Samsul who is the son of the victim and the accused claimed that he asked his father for a bidi early in the morning and he gave him one but on asking him a second one after some time, his father verbally abused him.
Hereafter, a verbal argument raged amid both the individuals and it soon turned into a fight. In anger, Samsul took out a khukuri (machete) and stabbed his father.
About the victim:
The victim identified as Lal Miyan was a resident of the Alipur area of Kalgachia and was stabbed to death by his son, Samsul Haque.
The legal authorities informed that they came to know about the murder and went to the spot of incident where they apprehended Samsul from the location.
The accused was then taken to the police station and on questioning, he accepted that he killed his father over a bidi.
