The Assam Government has taken an initiative to launch Project Sadbhavana on February 1, in order to dispose of pending files in the Secretariat.
Project Sadbhavana announced by Assam Government:
The project was announced by the Assam CM in October 2021. He had said that more than 1 lakh files, pending in various government departments prior to May 10, 2021, will be cleared in a bid to make governance people-friendly by migrating to e-governance under ‘Project Sadbhawana’.
Interaction meeting with IAS, ACS officers:
Before launching the project, the Assam CM held an interaction with the IAS, ACS, Assam Secretariat Service Officers, other officers of Janata Bhawan (Assam Secretariat) and heads of the departments at Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium in Guwahati and asked for their cooperation in making the project a success.
Aim of the Project:
Under the project, the files pending for several reasons for years together will be disposed of so that quick governance can be rendered to the people of the state. All pending files till the period of May 10, 2021 will be taken up for disposal.
CM said, “As a part of the project, a portal will be created and citizens can apply through that portal citing the file numbers and correspondence details. Accordingly, the government will take steps for disposing of the files. Even without file numbers and correspondence details, the government will dispose of the files as per laid down government procedures. The state government is on the threshold of a real breakthrough which will be people centric development.”
In the meantime, the Assam government has sanctioned the formation of a new administrative district which will be known as ‘Tamulpur’. According to an official order, this is being done in an effort to increase administrative expediency.
