Assam: A Giraffe which was brought from Mysore in the year 2020 in the Assam State Botanical Garden cum Zoo, Guwahati on the night of December 23.
About the incident in Assam:
The Giraffe was found dead on Thursday night at around 10:30 pm. The Assam State Zoo authorities have a suspicion that the Giraffe might have died from her head getting stuck inside the railings of her cage during the time she was having her meal.
The working employees in the Assam State Zoo claimed that the terrible death of the creature happened due to the recklessness and ignorance of the Divisional Forest Officer, Ashwini Kumar.
The workers also reported that they were totally unaware of what the situation was and received the information later after the Giraffe took her last breath.
About the Giraffe:
Report says that the Giraffe was brought from one of the Zoos of Mysore named Chamarajendra in the year 2020 and kept in the Assam State Botanical Garden cum Zoo located in Guwahati, Assam.
It is also known that another Giraffe named ‘Bijoy’ was brought along with her who died a year after being kept in Guwahati Zoo, Assam.
Aftermath:
The Giraffe has been sent for post mortem and other medical investigations to find out the main cause of death which is yet undiscovered.
