Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation’s (GMC) Enforcement Branch conducted a ‘Trade License’ inspection drive in the Beltola area of Guwahati.
GMC fined 5 guest house in Beltola, Guwahat
The GMC conducted raids on various guest houses as part of its campaign against illegally operating guest houses in the area, and fined five guest houses that were found guilty. The GMC has also issued trade notices in accordance with the GMC Act.
Reportedly, during the GMC’s inspection drive, a total of 5 guest houses were thoroughly investigated and found to be operating illegally without a valid trade licence or a trade licence that had not been renewed. Two of the five unlawfully operating guest houses were running trades without having a licence with them.
5 Guest Houses identified below
SSB Guest Houses, Nirvana Guest Houses, Pratishtha Guest Houses, Falguni Niwas Guest House, and Beltola Guest Houses were among the guest houses identified. SSB Guest House and Pratishtha Guest House are the only two guest houses without any trade licence in the area.
The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) announced on Twitter that during the drive, a total of 5 guest homes were inspected and found to be conducting their businesses without valid trade licences.
Rs. 30,000 collected as a penalty: GMC
Additionally, the GMC further stated that a total of Rs. 30,000 was collected as a penalty during the inspection drive.
