You must be aware that throughout the recruitment process for most Grade C and Grade D positions in the Assam government, you must submit an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate. As a result, an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate is required to apply for any government job in Assam. We’ll go over how to register your name with Employment Exchange and receive an Employment Exchange certificate in this article.

Previously, the Employment Exchange Registration application process was only available in paper format. However, as of September 27, 2021, the Government of Assam’s Department of Skill, Employment, and Entrepreneurship has computerized the entire process of Employment Exchange Registration. As of now, you can apply for an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate in Assam online, and the manual registration method has been phased out.

Employment Exchange Online Registration, 2022:

Manually issued registration numbers from any Assam Employment Exchange before to September 27, 2021 will be valid only until March 31, 2022, and after that date, the registration numbers will be considered invalid. Take a look at the Official Order.

Eligibility criteria: All Indian nationals over the age of 14 who are permanent residents of Assam are entitled to register their names in the State of Assam’s Employment Exchange.

District: Candidates are only eligible to register in one Employment Exchange in the state in which they are permanent residents within the District’s jurisdiction.

Eligibility Criteria for Registration :

Age Limit: All Indian citizens over the age of 14 who are permanent residents of Assam are entitled to register their names in the State of Assam’s Employment Exchange.

Domicile: Candidates are only eligible to register in one Employment Exchange in the state in which they are permanent residents within the District’s authority.

NOC for Employed Candidates: Applicants who are already employed and seeking better employment have to be registered only after producing a “No Objection Certificate” issued by the employer. 

How to Apply for Online Registration?

Candidates who wish to register their names in Employment Exchanges through the internet must do so through the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship of Assam’s official website. AADHAAR Based Verification and Non-AADHAAR Based Verification are the two main types of Online Employment Exchange Registration.

AADHAAR Based Verification:

In AADHAAR Based Verification method, candidates may simply apply online through official portal by using their AADHAAR Card with permanent address within the state of Assam. They don’t need to visit the Employment Exchange/s physically. So, candidates having an AADHAAR Card may follow below-mentioned steps.

  1. Scroll down, go to the Important Web-Link’s section.
  2. Click on the Online Employment Exchange Registration link
  3. The official online exchange registration portal will be opened.
  4. Click on the “Register” button; Enter Full Name, Email Id, Mobile No., Password and State, and Click Submit Button.
  5. Next, choose the Apply with AADHAAR option.
  6. Login to the portal by providing the Login ID and OTP/Password.
  7. Now, fill in all the necessary information.
  8. Please scan all Educational Qualification (Pass Certificate & Mark sheets in chronological order from the lowest level to highest level) into a single PDF and upload it as one single PDF.

After successful submission of the application, the Employment Exchange Card (X 10) will be issued to his/ her registered Email. 

Non-AADHAAR Based Verification:

Candidates who do not have an AADHAAR card must use the Non-AADHAAR Based Verification procedure. Applicants must, however, physically visit an Employment Exchange office to have their documents verified. The following is the online application process for Non-AADHAAR Based Verification.

  1. Scroll down, go to the Important Web-Link’s section.
  2. Click on the Online Employment Exchange Registration link.
  3. The official online exchange registration portal will be opened.
  4. Click on the “Register” button; Enter the Full Name, Email Id, Mobile No., Password and State, and Click Submit Button.
  5. Next, choose the Apply without AADHAAR option.
  6. Login to the portal by providing the Login ID and OTP/Password.
  7. Select date and time for verification of documents.
  8. Visit the respective office for the documents verification.
  9. Follow the necessary guidelines and process as described by concerned officials.

In the end, you will receive the Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.


Documents Required for the Online Registration:

Mobile Number: Candidates will have to provide a valid and active mobile number to complete the online registration process.

Documents Related to Educational Qualification: Candidates have to produce a single PDF of all their pass certificates and mark sheets. Note that all copies of documents must be scanned and clearly readable otherwise your application may be rejected.

Age Proof: Candidates will have to submit any one of the following mentioned documents as their age proof.

> Birth Certificate.
> HSLC Admit Card.
> School Certificate.

Proof of Residency: Candidates will have to submit any one of the following mentioned documents as a proof of their residence.

  1. AADHAAR Card with permanent address within the state of Assam
  2. Driving License (Self or Parents).
  3. Copy of Chitha/Jamabandi (Self or Parents).
  4. Copy of Passport (Self or Parents).
  5. Certified Copy of Electoral Roll/EPIC (Self or Parents).



Caste Certificate: Candidates have to upload caste certificate if they belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/MOBC/ EWS category.

PWD: PWD (Person with Disability) candidates have to upload a disability certificate issued by the competent authority.

Experience Certificate: Already employed candidates may upload experience certificates as applicable.

Non-Creamy Layer Certificate: OBC/ MOBC-NCL candidates may upload Non-Creamy Layer Certificate as applicable.
