Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma celebrates his 53rd birthday. He was born in Jorhat on February 1, 1969. He is currently the 15th and current Chief Minister of Assam.

Early Life of CM Sharma:
CM Sarma was born on 1 February 1969 to an Assamese Bamun family which outlines its lineage to Latima in Nalbari district. He wedded Riniki Bhuyan Sarma in 2001.
Himanta Biswa Sarma was nurtured at Kamrup Academy School, Guwahati in 1985 and entered Cotton College, Guwahati (presently known as Cotton University) for his undergraduate education.
He was enacted as the General Secretary of Cotton College Students Union, administered from 1991 to 1992.
CM Sarma is the seventh chief minister of Assam from Cotton University.
