India ranks in the top 10 list among the countries in the world for fatal road accidents.

As per the transport and highways ministry, it is among the top countries from around the world to be featured in the fatal road accidents list.
Going by the WRS 2018 list, it features the third position in the list.
And in terms of fatal accidents, the country features the top position in the list. Over the years, several persons have lost their lives due to accidents. Some caused by their own fault like drinking and driving while other due to severe road condition.
The ministry said that the government is doing what all it takes to make sure that the number of accidents come down each year. several measures and awareness programs have all been carried forward to ensure minimum damage to the loss of lives.
