“Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing. Innovation is the production or implementation of a creative idea. If you have ideas, but don’t act on them, you are imaginative but not creative.”
As rightly said by Linda Naiman, Saint Francis De Sales School Guwahati have been always in the forefront when it comes to experimenting with new scopes for co-curricular, academic or overall development of the child.
SFS Guwahati have since a long time benchmarked itself as an epitome of Evolutionary Leader whenever it comes to empanelment of new and trending skills in its students or going all the way to harness the scope of creativity in its students.
Recently, on 22nd January 2022, SFS Guwahati organized the very first ever “Typing Speed Contest’ for its students from class 6 to 12. The test was first of a kind across North-East India.
The test was conducted in the Computer Lab of the School Premise where COVID protocols were strictly followed along with proper distance maintaining and sanitization of the competition arena.
A total number of 30 students qualified for the Final Round of the Typing Speed Contest and we were really amazed to see the kind of speed and accuracy that the students displayed during the contest.
We all know the importance of Digital Era in today’s time and with the onset of COVID since 2019, the Digital Space has grown in multiple folds with Work From Home culture trending across the globe. Hence, computer systems have become an integral part of one’s life be it now academic or profession.
Typing is now an essential part of almost every job imaginable. It helps you complete your work faster and more efficiently, be comfortable with the computer, and help to communicate with coworkers and superiors.
Trying to type something for long periods of time can cause fatigue and also restlessness, so it’s beneficial for your health as well to have good typing skills and gradually increase your speed by practicing every day.
At SFS Guwahati, we not only focus on our children’s academic growth but also want to assure and be accountable for our children’s skillsets that they develop at the school which would enable them to have a clear vision of their future professional life as well, and as such we will continue to come up with more such events and activities which would allow our children to harness the real life skills and be ready for the bigger goals that they aspire to achieve in the future.
