A pistol has been recovered by the Delhi Police from the accused Sonu followed by Sunday’s violence in the Jahangiri area of Delhi.
A clash broke in the National Capital of the country on Sunday in Jahangirpuri area. A case has been filed against one individual named Sonu also known as Yunus. He was arrested followed by the clash.
A Sophisticated Pistol recovered
A pistol has also been recovered from the 28 year old. The arrest has been made after a video that went viral on social media clearly displaying his actions. He was seen to have worn a blue kurta on the day of the clash and was see firing the weapon.
As per reports from the Police department, “one sophisticated pistol was recovered from Sonu alias Yunus… in connection with Jahangirpuri Violence. A case under section 25 Arms Act has been registered, “Usha Rangnani , Deputy Commissioner of Police (north west).
He further added that, “ a video was circulated on April 17th on social media showing a man in a blue kurta opening fire during the violence in Jahangirpuri area on April 16. A police team went to his house in CD Park road and in his search and for examination of his family members.”
The accused has also accepted his doings and admitted to have fired. When the police went to arrest sonu on Monday, they were pelted with stones by the family members. The attack on the Delhi Police has however be termed as ‘minor’ and ‘one-off’.
The stones had hit one of the police officer, Santosh Khari who had to sustain injury . An individual ha been arrested for the same.
As of today, the situation has time and again escalated and as a result hundreds of uniform forces has been deployed in the area. In total, 25 people have been arrested who were involved in the violence. Ansar and Aslam who were the main accused have been arrested and others has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
The violence in Jahangirpuri has left a lot of tension in the state with several officers on duty being injured and many vehicles torched.
Amit Shah has ordered for a strict measure to be taken to all those taking part. Amidst the ongoing violence, both the political parties has started with the blame – one pointing fingers at the other.
