On Thursday, November 4, Legendary Columnist cum Social worker Samsul Hussain falls victim to Covid-19. He was just 75 years old and was going through his treatment at Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) and breathed his last today in the morning at around 9:30 am.
What happened after his retirement?
Following his retirement from Army Military Engineering service, Hussain became involved with several socio-political organizations and actually hailed from Assam’s Golaghat.
Hussain’s interest as a feature writer
Subsequently, Hussain committed to paper for several insightful pieces on contemporary issues for publications like Prantik, Asomiya Pratidin, Sadin, Gana Adhikar etc.
Hussain made remarkable contribution in the field of journalism during his lifetime along with engraving an element for himself as a columnist.
Hussain had actively taken part in various social events of the region and was also associated with Golaghat press club association.

Moreover, Hussain was a Working President of Golghat Press Club cum editor-in Chief of Reporter Live Assam, Diganta Kumar Bhuyan, Jounalist Union of Assam’s Golaghat unit’s President Dwipen Dutta, AASU’s Abhivartan Goswami, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad’s Jitul Rajkhowa, All Assam Garia Jatiya Parishad’s working president Imtiaz Ahmed and others and others have empathized the death of Hussain.
