In an unfortunate incident in Assam’s Karimganj district, at least 30 students were severely injured after a hanging bridge fell. The spine-chilling incident took place on Monday, October 4 when the school students were also returning home.
As per the media reports, the horrific incident occurred in the Cheragi area under the Ratabari assembly constituency in the Karimganj district.

The hanging bridge above the Singla river connects Cheragi and the village which was predominantly used by the school students for a long period to reach other places along with their educational institutions.
The bridge was constructed three years back and it collapsed. However, the locals rushed and could rescue the students of Cheragi Vidyapith High School from the river.
