In order to improve the connectivity in Rangapara and ease congestion in the perennial chock-a-block traffic around the Railway crossing the Assam Government has initiated infrastructure development by commencing the construction of Balipara-Missamari stretch of over bridge.
About the project initiated by Government:
The project cost Rs. 107.585 crore. The total length of the bridge is 804.4 m. The construction was started on March 10, 2020, the stretch was completed by December 25, 2021. As per the agreement the construction of the bridge was to be completed within 33 months of initiation.
Infrastructure facilities:
With a view to provide infrastructure facilities to the Prospective Entrepreneurs/Investors the Assam Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) and the Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (AIIDC) have been asked to develop new Industrial parks by procuring more land in the State.
Meanwhile various Industrial Infrastructures such as several Industrial Growth Centres, IID Projects, Industrial Parks etc. have already been established in almost all the districts of the State. Open land of 80 lakh sq. m. have already been developed and so far 32 lakh sq. m. have been allotted to various Industrial Projects in the State.
Ready-made industries:
The remaining 48 lakh sq. m. or 1000 acres of developed land is available today. Besides ready-made industrial sheds, the Department is in possession of huge plots of fully developed open land ready for allotment to the prospective parties interested in establishing their industries in different locations in the State.
Assam Industrial Development Corporation has implemented an Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) at Amingaon near Guwahati in the district of Kamrup at an estimated cost of Rs. 14.62 crores. The basic objectives of EPIP are: To build and provide industrial infrastructural facilities in an integrated manner.
