CM has directed Special DGP GP Singh to personally investigate the case. Also, he announced that the charge sheet needs to be filed in a month and justice to be delivered through Fasttrack court.
Earlier on CM Sarma’s advice, Assam’s Education Minister Ranoj Pegu assured that Animesh will get justice soon and all the necessary steps regarding the process will be taken.

Local villagers, on the other hand, mounted a protest in front of the DSP, asking that the Superintendent of Police, Jorhat, come to the AASU leader’s house immediately, Time8 reports.
Sources state the locals got into a fight with the police officer. The enraged residents allegedly threatened the Jorhat administration and SP Jorhat, claiming to be performing Animesh’s funeral rites near the crime scene.
