The Assam Government has taken the decision to provide retirement benefits to Anganwadi Workers as per the Assam Cabinet Decision on Friday, December 24. According to the government, this measure will act as an act of acknowledgment for the invaluable services provided by the Anganwadi Workers of the state and will boost their morale.
About the Retirement Benefits:
Assam Government aims to provide a one-time benefit to Anganwadi workers at the time of retirement (on attaining 60 years).
The Retirement Benefit will be based on the position the workers hold.
Anganwadi Workers in the Anganwadi center will receive a benefit of Rs. 4 Lakh
Anganwadi Worker in Mini-Anganwadi Centre will receive a benefit of Rs. 3 Lakh
Anganwadi Helper in Anganwadi center will receive a benefit of Rs. 2 Lakh
Additionally, the government has decided to provide a 50% benefit to workers who served for a minimum of 10 years and resigned before retirement.
Also, the next of kin of workers to get the same benefit in case of death while in service.
