Earlier this year, there had been a viral video of a man making Rasgulla Chaat with sev, yogurt, and chutney. A food blogger has visited the store to try out the bizarre food combination.
About the Viral Rasgulla Chaat video
‘Rasgulla Chaat’, as bizarre as it sounds; a video of its making was circulating on the internet. It showed the hands of a possible street vendor, making Rasgulla Chaat by first setting two rasgullas drained of its chashni (sugar syrup), on a plate, cutting each into halves, then delicately spicing them up with (what appeared to be) masala and salt, it was then generously drizzled with tamarind (imli) sauce (chutney) and dollops of curd (dahi).
The bizarre modern ‘delicacy’ was then garnished with dry fruits and nuts like almonds, raisins, and cashews. It was then decorated with another round of tamarind chutney and then given to the videographer. It was initially uploaded on YouTube by the channel Delhi Food Nest, with the description “Innovative Rasgulla Chaat in Delhi, dare to try this?”
Twitter user Kaptan Hindustan shared the clip on the social media platform, with the caption “We are doomed”, where netizens shared and expressed their disgust for the dish, by retweeting and commenting on the post.
It has been later found out that the store is located in Bengaluru, at VV Puram Food Street.
The Food Blogger trying a bizarre ‘Tikki Rasgulla Chaat’ dish
The food blogger goes by the name ‘sooosaute’ on Instagram. She is named Anjali Dhingra in real life. She shared a video, in the form of an Instagram reel. It involved her tasting the ‘Tikki Rasgulla Chaat’ for the very first time. Her video reached over 145 thousand views. In the posted clips, she is seen saying, “this cost me ₹140, never again” with a plain and blatant face of disappointment.
There were over 80 comments in her video, most of which noted how weird the combination was. Many users shared their disappointment, an Instagrammer said, “I can see the disappointment in her face please don’t do anything gibberish with such an authentic sweet”, while another said, “Knew it, bakwas hi Hoga us a taste”. Some users however commented asking Anjali where the Chaat store is located.
